9 out of 10 cosmetic products contain microplastics. Ours do not.

The cosmetics industry is one of the most polluting in the world. That needs to change.

A bottle of shampoo or shower gel is 80% water. The remaining 20% is often heavily processed chemicals: mineral oils, microplastics, parabens and silicones. Every year around 120 billion pieces of plastic cosmetic packaging end up in landfill worldwide, only a fraction of which is recycled.

We want no part of that. Not because it sounds good, but because it is the only honest choice.

Our products contain no microplastics, no mineral oils, no silicones, no parabens. That is verifiable: read the INCI list on every product. We hide nothing.

Circular ingredients: a natural consequence of working in harmony with nature

Every year 125 million citrus peels are thrown away in the Netherlands, even though they are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Nature knows no waste: everything is part of a clever ecosystem. Leaves that fall in autumn become food for the soil.

That principle inspires us. By giving by-product streams such as orange peel, coffee grounds and pine needles a second life in our soaps and care products, we align ourselves with the rhythm of nature.

Working circularly is not a trend or a marketing story for us. It is a logical step when you believe there is no reason to separate what is good for you from what is good for the planet.

100% natural: what that means for us

Every natural soap from Nature Bar is built on organic olive oil, coconut oil and shea butter, enriched with botanical ingredients such as calendula, lavender or rosehip oil. No petroleum derivatives, no synthetic fragrances.

The artisan cold process retains glycerine in the soap. In industrial production that glycerine is removed and sold separately. You then pay extra for a body lotion you would not have needed.

Handmade: craftsmanship you can feel

In our soap studio in De Hallen, Amsterdam all soap and shampoo bars are made by hand. Every batch is hand-poured and cut. Every soap cures for a minimum of four weeks.

Customers say it time and again: you feel the difference compared to factory soap. That is not accidental. Handmade soap retains glycerine and nourishing oils that are removed in industrial production.

Honest, and you are welcome to check

The term 'natural' is not protected. Any brand can put it on a bottle. We believe you have the right to know what you are putting on your skin. That is why every Nature Bar product carries the full INCI list, why we explain on our ingredients page what each ingredient is and why we use it, and why we explicitly state what is not in our products.
