A natural scented candle is made from plant based wax instead of paraffin, with a cotton wick and a scent of pure essential oils. The Nature Bar scented candle is hand poured in our own studio in De Hallen, Amsterdam. It weighs 185 grams and comes in a glass jar with a black aluminium lid.
The lid keeps the scent fresh for longer and keeps dust off the wax. Only put the lid on once the candle is out and the glass has cooled down. That way the scent stays in the wax until you light the candle again.
We use plant based rapeseed wax. Plant based wax comes from crops that grow back every year. The wax burns calmly and evenly, so the scent spreads nicely through the room. Paraffin is made from petroleum, and we prefer to stay away from that.
A scented candle is for a conscious moment: an evening on the sofa, a bath or a dinner. The warmth of the flame gives a fuller scent. Reed diffusers spread a subtle scent all day without you having to do anything. A 100 ml bottle lasts 3 to 4 months. Both come in the same scents, so they are easy to combine.
The 185 gram scented candle burns for approximately 50 to 55 hours. Exactly how long it lasts depends on how long you burn it each time and on the airflow in the room. Burn the candle for no more than 3 to 4 hours at a time to get the most burning hours out of it.

Let the candle burn for 2 to 3 hours the first time, until the entire surface has melted. This prevents tunnelling and helps the wax burn evenly afterwards. Trim the wick to about 5 mm before each use. This keeps the flame calm and reduces soot.
Yes. Once the candle has burned down, let the jar cool and remove the last bit of wax with warm water. You can then use the glass as a storage jar, a pen holder or for a small plant.
