Gua sha massage: ontdek de kracht van onze aluminium tool

Gua Sha Massage: Discover the Power of Our Aluminium Tool

Gua sha massage is an ancient technique from traditional Chinese medicine that has firmly established itself in modern skincare routines. At Nature Bar we launched our own aluminium gua sha tool: lightweight, sustainable and effective. In this article we explain what gua sha is, what the benefits are and how to use the tool step by step.

What is gua sha massage?

Gua sha (pronounced gwa-sha) literally means "scraping of red patches" and has been used for thousands of years in East Asia as a therapeutic massage technique. In the modern version you use a specially shaped tool to glide gently over the skin. The aim: stimulate circulation, drain waste products via the lymphatic system and relax the muscles.

What do you use gua sha for?

A gua sha massage is suitable for both the face and body. On the face it has a lifting, relaxing and detoxifying effect. On the body it helps release muscle tension and soreness.

For the face, use gua sha for:

  • Puffiness and fluid retention
  • Tension in the jaw or forehead
  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Stimulating collagen production

The 3 biggest benefits of gua sha massage

1. Improved circulation. The gentle stroking movements stimulate blood flow. This creates a natural glow and a healthier complexion.

2. Reduces puffiness and dark circles. The massage helps drain fluid via the lymphatic system, which gives particularly visible results around the eyes and jawline.

3. Lifting and firming effect. Regular use results in noticeably firmer skin, fewer fine lines and a fresher appearance.

How to use the Nature Bar aluminium gua sha tool

Our gua sha tool is made from lightweight aluminium. Durable, hygienic and built to last.

  1. Cleanse your face with the Charcoal & Aloe Vera face soap bar and apply the Botanical Boost Serum so the tool glides smoothly over the skin.
  2. Hold the tool at an angle of 15 to 30 degrees relative to your skin.
  3. Start at the neck and stroke upwards from below.
  4. Work upwards towards the jawline, cheeks and forehead, always stroking from the centre outwards.
  5. Use gentle but firm pressure, approximately 3 to 5 strokes per movement.
  6. Finish with gentle strokes towards the lymph nodes around the ears and neck.

Use gua sha 2 to 3 times per week for best results, preferably in the evening so your skin can recover optimally overnight.
